What is POP3?

POP3 stands for Post Office Protocol revision 3. It is used to fetch delivered email messages from your mail server. A distinctive POP3 feature is that it deletes the messages from the server after they are downloaded to your computer. This makes it impractical if you would like to access your email from more than one device. To fetch emails on more than one device, you can use IMAP instead.
